Eh, I miss hearing myself talk about nothing and this post is just flowing with how and what I could add which makes the paragraphs, the sentences and just about this entire wording structure come as natural as (insert demeaning reference to some actor in the media.)

...only 'till I realize that no one really reads these things and it's me just writing stuff down like a pretentious ass that thinks their opinion really matters in the giant ocean of piss called the internet. But hey, that's just me. I'm optimistic.

I've negelected this blogger account more than Harbor Freeway. Which is sad because I love both this blog and Harbor Freeway. It all comes down to one single little highlight bullet point in a PowerPoint presentation, I'm fucking lazy. (...and I like to procrastinate.)

Oh yeah. I changed the template once more. Enjoy.

Anyway, this Alternative 90's Rock Collection that finished downloading about 20 minutes ago is pretty good. I have UltraPlayer on Shuffle mode (Windows Media Player is broken, it keeps on crashing which is pretty normal for a Microsoft product.) and every song that has played I've liked. I have skipped a few because, well, I heard those songs way too much. (current song playing? "Lit - My Own Worst Enemy") It's a massive collection.

In the time I was gone, something very important happened at LAX. The Encounter Resturaunt, the space age Theme Building at the middle of LAX, was closed for repairs. Why? A half-ton of stucco fell from one of the arches crashing into the resturant. The arches were deemed unstable and are now under repairs. The Encounter is pretty damn old, so a restoration is good, even though the arches do not provide structure support and are for show. Oh well.

I'm out.

Yeah, it could be a valentine's day strip, but then I'd have to continue this, ending up that after two months of updates, it'll still be Valentine's Day. Whatever, spending Christmas alone is a much sadder and more emo thing. So, what did Chris say to Emily that pissed her off? Who knows. (I know.) Bwuh, here's the lighter side. Ever wonder what would happen if fern made this strip? Yeah. Brilliance.

What is this? Is it my return to blogger? No, it couldn't be, could it? Maybe. I dunno. LiveJournal is too constricting and not stylish. (...not at all.) I joined LJ since Phyllis suggested it, it's okay. It's just that it does not offer the freedoms that Blogger has. Sure uploading to LJ is much easier than it is to Blogger, but ads? Really? Blogger has none of that stuff. Hell, if I wanted to, Blogger gives me the chance to actually put my own Google Ads on my little blog. I'll never do it, but it's nice to know that I could. Where do we go from here? I dunno. Though be honest, where do you dudes like reading more? Here or LJ?

Damn, I really did miss Blogger's way of doing things. What's new? I downloaded Project 64 with Net Play. Oh man is it fun, I download San Fransisco Rush, and whoa. I haven't had this much fun on my computer since I installed SWAT 3.

After my quick N64 fix, I said I needed more. Then this one game came to mind, one I had a long time ago then lost. That game was California Speed. I downloaded, played (wow. racing games have sure come a long way.) and said more. I downloaded Rush 2, played for some time. I said more again. I remember I never got to play San Fransisco Rush 2049, so I downloaded that. I ended up with more and more.

(ugh, I forgot about the pain of uploading images to blogger.)

I was knee deep in roms, I wanted more. So I downloaded Perfect Dark. I remember I had lost the Expansion Pak, and the only thing I could do was play multiplayer. Man, now that I see it, Perfect Dark was made for computers. (...thanks to that control plugin fish showed me.)

I need to transfer my entire collection of N64 games to my PC, that means I need to get Tomorrow Never Dies, Goldeneye, Mario Party, Monaco Grand Pix, Mischief Makers, Automobili Lamborghini, Vigilante 8 (and 2nd Offense.) Super Mario 64 and some others I can't name now. Then, I shall be happy. Also, tonight I'm trying out that Net Play feature.

Bah, my mouth still hurts from the visit to the dental office. I need to clean out my sink, which is still filled with blood. There is also this horrible taste in my mouth, ugh. I feel like crap. These painkillers can put anyone to sleep. I took one in the morning, didn't wake up until 12:00. (I normally wake up at 6.) Dude, I can't wait until tomorrow, I'll probably feel better.

I dunno. I found that on my hard drive this morning.

I'm gonna recommend some music here today. If you like Telefon Tel Aviv, check out The Vector Warrior. In the style of Tel Aviv, Vector Warrior's style is alot more franctic and backbeat with melancholic sounds. It's a mess and clash of everything electronic that has such a deep complex sound that it sounds so right. Give The Vector Warrior a check out, most importantly the songs "In The Dusk" and "CarJack"

Fantastic news, peeps. I talked about how the 76 ball from Union stations were being taken down once. I even made a comic based on it. I dunno, I've always enjoyed those 76 logos, I remember how they would dress them up for Halloween. The future seemed grim for these balls, that is, until now.

BigFish has that cool tracker map that displays where anyone who visits her site lives in, that's pretty cool. I could steal her idea and post one here. But nah, I steal enough stuff from her. Like the dress-up game and the links section. Rather, I shall post this here, just pretend it's cooler than a map of visitors.

Last thing? It's been a long time since I've posted in this blog. What's happened in the mean time? Well, I've made a new comic, a collaboration if you must, with BigFish (or Big Fish Comic) you could say it's the brainchild of both our masterminds, but no. It's just us screwing around. I really wish I could update the damn thing, it's on a little hiatus. I totally lost my tablet pen and cannot continue the comic

...which totally sucks since I actually enjoy drawing it.

By the way, I can't believe the internet still has this.

So I tried the whole livejournal comic blog thingy, LJ does have many features. But it's nothing like my love-hate blogger account. I love this useless blog (..you should too!) So now we go, let's talk about the comic why don't we? I tried a new somewhat no different art style in this comic. It's in the eyes, see it? Yeah. (*insert 'I kinda like it' statement I always say*)

Aside my little comic, I also created a little dress-up involving Emily. Featuring a little selection of shirts and pants (or skirts.) that are all interchangeable. If you didn't notice, one of the shirts has a fugly drawn BitTorrent logo on it. I think this whole dress-up came out well, and it was all practice for the upcoming flash comics I have planned. (which will rock your world.)

Ironic thing about this comic, the dialog in the first panel was different. The alternative version featured Chris and Emily talking about The Burger King. The comic was already finished when I decided to change it. Why? Well blame Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. (or blame Eddie Money)

I'm planning something very special for LAX. I'm thinking about making it into a love sim-esque interactive flash comic. Where every decision affects the story line (Basically, the game will become like Indigo Prophecy. And if you never played Prophecy... Well. Ha. You are missing out on a wonderful game.) I'm working on this little sample that shall be released sometime in Janurary. Watch out for it (like, AIDS or something.)

I love how this page came out. I just love it. Usually, when I draw, the comic pages are always smudged. That pisses me off to no extent. It's mostly because of the massive erasing I do and all the pencil marks. This page was different, instead of drawing how I normally do, I tried something different. The effect came out well enough to be considered more than decent. Also, this pencil and blue style looks pretty kick ass (..to me.) So I think it's gonna stay. (nigga.)

So that's my desk, my love. My little, little dirty love. It's where I draw, it's where I work, it's where I go to do nothing special. It needs a little cleaning, the top is dirty with all sorts of pen and pencil marks. And hey, look. It's today's comic. Along with the super awesome pen and pencil I used. (To those that never played Indigo Prophecy, you may want to look away right about... now. WAIT, IT'S TOO LATE!)

Hey, dudes. Want to hear a depressing story? (No? Too bad.) One of my best friends told me that listening to the Dave Matthews Band makes you gay. I just noticed on Windows Media Player (10, I remember downloading the Beta version of 11, what a big fucking mistake!) I have played "Crash Into Me" by the Dave Matthews Band 76 times. I think that makes me gay or something.

..but that's not the depressing story (it's more or less me trialling off and talking about some other stuff no one in their right mind cares about, sorta like right now.) Anyways, this is the depressing story. I just went to the Costco near my house, and I saw them there, those huge plushie dogs that at one point where bigger than me. I saw a mother buy one for this kid. (This is why I am the way I am, imagine if they would have never taken that dog away from me. I could be king. I could have all the money in the world, the popularity, the power, the women. Everything.)

I miss that dog. :(

I need a tablet dudes, I suck at drawing with mouses. Not my skill. Anyways, I want to get rid of these goddamned pencil smudges. I hate them, man. I hate them. Tablets seems pretty cool with their straight to computer, no paper needed deal. I'd do anything to get rid of smudges. My relatives gave me a $75 dollar Best Buy gift card along with an extra $50, I think I can afford to buy one. (..or just buy a shitload of $20 PS2 and Xbox games.)

Also, I really need to bring in more people to ComicDish, the service is fantastic, except the place fails without a strong community. I need to bring more people, pimpout ComicDish alot more. Make it better than that SmackJeeves place.

So, I took part in that wonderfully awesome Comic Remix. Pink Diapers of Changing Worlds was the awesome person to remix my comic. The said comic remixed was this one. This image just rocks, there's no way for me to describe how good and awesome it looks. Look at it, both Emily and Chris drawn in a way so much better than mine. I love the their expressions and everything (the plane and the background is also pretty damn kickass). Thanks Pink, I love it.

My remix was that of Tantz Aerine's Wolf. An awesome mystery comic that you should give a read. I had fun remixing Wolf. The page I remixed was this one, my version is here. I actually redrew the comic two times, since the finished product was not "awesomesauce." In the end, it all worked out okay, which is awesome by me.

I'm so taking part in the next Comic Remix. (happy face emoticon here.)

Speaking of people drawing my comic, I got this cute little picture by BigFish. It was made on that Pictionary game over at Yahoo Games. It's so very cute!

Since I have no update, and I did spend all Saturday trying to write a review, I shall post this review of some webcomic called Big Fish Comics by bigfishcomics here. It will appear on The Dish Monthly shortly.

I fail at many things, say athletics, being friendly, socialism (that's a skill now), drawing webcomics, many, many things, the list is endless. Everytime I view a webcomic on the internet, the main character is either a pretty boy that loves taking it from his boy lover, a gamer with a passion for games, or some sort of fantasy crap (I hate trees).

(clubbing and everything else.)

The thing about Big Fish Comics is the cynicalism of it all, the girl, who has no name, reacts coldly to everything around her. She couldn't care if her friend's adorable big dog gets eaten by her fish (who does end up eating both her grampa, and her boyfriend) There's a sense of slacker-dom in this comic. This girl lives a boring life and wants something else, something exciting. In essence (I say that to sound smart), she wants something new in her life that shall bring excitement. Case and point, look at the Girl's reactions when she first met her boyfriend, she was excited. Eventually that became a drag, and thus it was another brick in the wall of boring.

Big Fish Comics is a slice of life comic, there is no story, so it's pretty damn simple to jump in. It's the kinda comic that can drag you in with one page and make you read the entire archive.

Big Fish's jokes deserve a quick chuckle, these aren't Perry Fellowship Bible-esque jokes, they won't make you "WAFFLE" (you know, "rolling on the floor laughing") but they do require you to think a little (not much, though.) Is this dry humor? You could say that, it's more like developed dry humor. There's no punchline here (metaphorically speaking), the humor lies deeply rooted inside the actions of the characters. These characters ring true to real life, making it funny (the, "hey, that's pretty damn funny, and it's so true to real life." kinda humor). Although there are a few stinkers in the archive (I can name one). The writing in Big Fish is solid, aside from some comics which just aren't up to par.

It doesn't take much to know the personalities of each character. The Girl is bored with her mediocre life and thus has a bored expression on her face, the Boyfriend tries to hard to impress The Girl and is probably needy. As for the Fish, well, he (or she) likes to eat everything.

(chew with your mouth closed. eh?)

I can tell you one thing, the Fish does excellent work as a bringer of a quick Deus Ex Machima, with the quick killing (read, eating) of the boyfriend and all. The Girl's cold reply, "Chew with your mouth closed" wraps things perfectly. That's the perfect example of Big Fish's cynical humor. Either you like it, or you don't. That's the thing about these slice of life comics.

The art style, as with the humor, you either love it or hate it. There's no mindblowing stuff here. It's a very simple style that flows with cute. It consists of line-less characters and environments, thus it has to rely on colors, which are well done. The characters all have their reactions, and you can, without a doubt, tell them apart. One thing I dislike about the line-less art style is that at times you can't make some of the stuff out, say for example the hands of the characters.

Big Fish Comics is hosted at two places, one at the main site, and the other at DrunkDuck. The main site is made up of Flash and is quite simple to navigate. The flash layout is somewhat out there while still being here, futuristic but still down to modern times. The neat thing is the little animation at the top, it's like an aquarium of some sorts where Fish and some other animals float around.

There's standard webcomic fair on the site, the About pages, the Archive, and one little thing that makes this site a little different, the author (who I assume is hot.) actually has some manga for download. Yeah, manga. That's pretty darn generous of her.

Navigation of the archives is simple. You can either pick from two choices, read the comic front to back, or pick from the list. If you pick from the list, you only get the original .swf file, no next comic, or last comic radio buttons. If you pick the front to back archive, you have to start from the beginning and read all the way to the ending. Navigation of the comic can be better though.

(dress up can bring hours of fun, especially with fish.)

There are few extras on this site, a little flash movie, a flash intro, a flash puzzle (one of the hardest ever, the more I beat it, the harder it seems to get.) and the cream of the crop. A little dress-up game which features The Girl, The Boyfriend, and Big Fish that brings hours of fun. (Looking back, that "beating" thing sounds so wrong... ;_;)

The DrunkDuck mirror is made out of pure HTML, which looks exactly like the Flash site, but works better (navigation is much easier). One thing I noticed about the DrunkDuck mirror is the way the HTML was probably coded by some sort of super-genius that knows a thing or two about HTML. Who made it? I will never know.

So in the end, you either love Big Fish for it's cynical slice of life humor, or you hate it for either a. the gags aren't what make that cold funny bone of yours chuckle, or b. you utterly hate the art style. If you choose either a or b, you are superficial.

Heh, I kinda love this page, it was an experiment with colors that went horribly wrong. Thankfully the grayscale kicked in and saved the picture. See, the grayness give this picture and early dawn kinda feel. I love that. Also, there's also a reference to that sneaky Captain Obvious.

Geez, Holidays suck. A friend told me that Holidays are depressing to people without lovers, all the while looking at me. What does that mean? Well, It means I'm so cold to holidays because I have no one to love (or a lover in essence). Frankly, I love not having to worry about presents, acceptance, and all that melodramatic love stuff. It's fun being alone, and sure, it does have it's down moments. But you know, it's fun.

I'm not gonna pretend that it's not lonely spending the holidays alone, it truly is. Now excuse me, I'm gonna go to the mall later on and try bring down those happy couples doing last minute Christmas shopping. I shall wear black, talk in an emo tone, and try to be depressed. Maybe I can get some pity, or some looks. Oh, what fun Christmas is.

I find this suspicious. You all know I have my heart set on going to the The Art Institute of California (No, not the one in San Fransisco.) Anyways, I decided to go for a tour, I look it up and find something very interesting. It's near-by LAX.

Hey, look. LAX finally shows some emotion and character insight! That is truly something that is not normal. In fact, I think there's a glitch in the matrix somewhere. All kidding aside, I have nothing against this company called "truth" let them spread their message of whatever. I just think that someone should have the right to kill themselves if they want to. That's all.

I decided what I'm gonna review for The Dish Monthly, it a webcomic called Big Fish Comics by some author whose name I can't remember at the moment. Let me ask a theoretical question, how awesome can a comic about a big fish be? (Unless if the comic is not all about the big fish and is really about some average girl.) Yeah, expect that by Friday or Saturday.

I'm on vacation (I'm enjoying every single little bit of it.) which means I have a lot of free time, and by a lot, I mean, "I could fucking make a movie out of Legos, lot of time." Aside from finishing the new main page, which is still not ready to go live but is fully functional. I decided to venture in the world of something strange, fetishes. Yes, I am making a toy car sex site. Oh yes.

Last night I mocked up a small concept for the new links page, it's simple, and it tells you all you need to know about the exit sites (or links as they say.) Here's the link to the "beta" HTML, it's still in the early stages. All it needs are more links (Furniture Porn), better descriptions (most of the stuff on there is filler), and actual links (Yeah, see).

In the process of mocking up HTML concepts, I made this. A new homepage for LAX. One that removes the comic from the main site and adds it to another part of the site. The main page includes only a blog post, the shoutbox, and a picture. Separated from the main page, the comic resides on it's own page, with only the page, the page title, and my little descriptions. Which is better, original or newer? Hell if I know. It was still fun coding these things up.

Why did I do that? I'm on vacation, man.

...It's awesome, I took a nap, I played some Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and I drew a filler which for fuck's sake, I'm not posting. Vacation is a wonderful thing in this life, you know.

So I finished Indigo Prophecy (or Fahrenheit to the rest of the world), and it was fantastic. One of the better games I've played, I loved the music in this. Fantastic stuff. The ending song really matches the feeling of the end, Theory of a Deadman's "Santa Monica" was the perfect way to end this interactive movie. David Cage, you are a fucking genius with your perfect directing skills and using music wisely in this video game. Hey, speaking of Santa Monica, anyone remember that song, er, "Santa Monica" by Everclear? Yeah.

(Everclear and Everlast, I always get these two mixed up.)

My region of mod ship over this internet is expanding ever so slightly. It first started with a little modship over at DrunkDuck, as a mod for the Help section. Sam then called on me for modship over at the new comic hosting place, ComicDish. It started with being a mod for the Help Section and the Game section, then it evolved into being the editor for the ComicDish Help Guide, and then, finally, it transformed into becoming a full site admin for the place. Later on, I was promoted to Global Mod at BlueGlassComics and now, I'm a staff member for the LeFarce Network. People, people. I am slowly taking over these great internets.

(This either proves one of two things: a. I'm a valuable asset to whatever site I'm on or b. I have to much fucking time on my hands to actually accomplish all of this, your choice. Whatever.)

You know, being a mod at DrunkDuck has it's cooler features, like for one. Platiunm Studios give a "special thanks" to their mods. What do I mean by that? "As a special thanks, we'd like to send you a free copy of the Cowboys & Aliens book signed by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg ( Creator )." That's pretty fucking awesome.

Oh shit, I forgot to write a little review for the Dish Monthly. I'm stumped for ideas, I could either review the the Stereophonics album, You Gotta Go There to Come Back, the webcomic, Big Fish Comics by bigfish, or the video games Indigo Prophecy by Quantic Dream or Sneak King by BK Games. I have no idea what to do, I ask you, you two readers of this lowly blog, what would you prefer reading?

And hey, LAX gets reviewed to more times, this time actually somewhat good: Let's check in on the top reviews that my little webcomic received:

"This first thing that comes to mind is that it's tough to make out what's what in a lot of the panels. Most of your characters look similar and most are drawn the same way as the background. There's not a lot to tell me where they are in relation to each other or in relation to what's around them.

Please don't take that as a dis on your artistic ability. The stuff in #9 (6-26-06) is really nice. I think you just need to make the characters stand out more, make the panels a bit bigger (from what you've been doing lately). Maybe experiment with some small additions of color. "

and,

"The artwork is nice, but very ... um ... flat. The characters blend into the background.

The "strips" that are audio (such as #27) are fine, but you may wish to scatter them around a bit more, rather than having them bunched together. There's about five or six in a row. Or maybe put artwork as well as audio on the one page. (If they are both there, I'm not seeing both).

As a suggestion, you could have, in lieu of artwork, a block of text which represents an internal monlogue and suggest to the reader that they have the audio playing in the background whilst they read the story."

Early update today, why? Because I felt like it.

Well, this is about as accurate to the real LAX as you will ever see in a webcomic (unless someone starts another webcomic about an airport. Which is unlikely.) I can actually name the locations seen in this comic, as such, the first panel is Runway 24R (which can be seen here.) The second is an unknown baggage claim, which I totally forgot where it was. The third panel is the very top of Terminal 5 (which can be seen here.) and last but not least? The last panel features the Encounter Restaurant. You know, that weird ass white building.

There's something that eats me up inside whenever I draw a background by myself. They seem too, generic airport-ish. I hate that. To keep me from driving myself insane, I'll totally use images as inspiration. That's the only way to due it right. Naturally, since I drew this page out of four pictures, I feel pretty damn proud of it, nothing can bring me down. Hell, I feel like that Kanye West song. Aside from the fact that I don't want to fuck everything I see, and I totally don't believe I should be in the bible.

There's many references to things that will probably (maybe) never happen. Like say, finding WMDs in Iraq. That's totally my joke, everyone bashes Bush. So I'll do the reverse and prove he was right in my alternative universe (It's set in 2008, people.) As for the President Walken thing, that can be true, if you vote for him. Imagine Christopher Walken, the famous actor, the man that stared in that music video for Fatboy Slim, as our president. I'd totally vote for him. Also, this page makes a reference to an earthquake in San Fransisco.

Now here's something interesting for you about what happened at LAX recently. An old man got tasor'd by airport police. Whose fault was it? Watch the FOX 11 news report on it, then watch the actual LAX Security Cam footage. The next Rodney King? You decide.

Somewhat of A BitterSweet Joy.

LAX: Light Motion Dreams: Update.

There was a little change in the site, I removed those horrid gray borderlines that the HTML tables displayed, they were horrible, and ugly. The site is alot more streamlined. Now there is a good balance of white and gray. Other adjustments to the site was the new menu, I replaced the old one, which was lacking, broken, and just, whatever'd. One major change in the site is the new page headers, which are all free use (according to Creative Commons.) Why? I support the Creative Commons license, and my pictures are all under that very same free use license, so there. The About page was also updated

I like this title page, it's very minimalistic. The picture was also great, it was something I snapped on the Harbor Freeway at night, truly a great shot (or so I think.) The link to the full size version of the picture seen in the cover (and in color) is right here. The picture is titled, "Crash into the Downtown Lights."

One thing I want an opinion on is this, should I retain my good ole' blogger account, or totally continue blog updating at Wordpress? Give me your opinion on that, dear chaps.

So, I went to the LA Auto Show, the best auto show in Los Angeles, which is now entering it's 100th year. This year marked a massive change in show dates. Instead of being held for a week in January, it is now held for a week in December. This week was that week. Anyways, I packed my ass up, got to the LA Convention Center, and went to the Auto Show.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love going here, I've go every year. The coolest thing ever was, just when paying the tickets, some random dude comes up to me and says, "here, have these. I don't need them." What did he give me? Four "Complimentary Auto Show" tickets. That saved some money. So what was wrong this year?

Aside from Mitsubishi having a small showing, Maserati shunned to the South Hall, and expensive food. One thing was very evident. I was alone. There was no one there I could talk too. From the gangs of friends hanging around, checking out cars, to those couples having a merry cheerful time. I was just there, taking pictures of whatever the hell interested me, alone.

What's that do to a person? It makes one think. Is your life better for choosing to be alone, or is it better than being with people that you hate? It's a tough question, really. Oh, well. It's the life I choose, and it's totally awesome. So don't feel bad for me. There's always Mr. Night to cheer me up from whatever brings me down (totally not like that Kanye West song.)

LAX: Light Motion Dreams: Update.
"Beautifully Strange" Part 2" (12/07/06)

Hmm, today I was not gonna update. I was just gonna post a filler, fall asleep and do whatever the hell I do on a regular basis. I was swamped, and I didn't want to draw today. In the end, things lead to other things, and now I'm here, with a new update called "Beautifully Strange" Part 2, the last comic for morning becomes eclectic chapter.

I love how this little flash movie came out, I just love it. What's amazing is the fact that it took about three hours to put together, a new record. From drawing the comic to making the flash. I managed to get my lazy ass to draw and make this page. The airport sounds played in the background I found at the last minute and just added, I think it does the ambiance justice. Also, one thing that struck me as amazing is the small file size, clocking in at about 501 Kilobytes.

So that's it, the dude killed himself. Now this little event brings more questions than it answers. Who was cutting the wires in the computer room? Who was this man? How did he sneak a gun into the airport? and What the hell is the blue sky experiment? Well, they'll be answered at a later time. Did I mean to end the chapter this way? Yup. I planned it since the beginning.

I have nothing to add now. I'll leave you with this catchy pop song from that teen movie I never watched with that dude from Titanic in the 90s. The song is by The Cardigans, and yes. You guessed it, it's Lovefool. Whatever.

Notice anything different in this page? Yup, it's very subtle. No idea as to what it is, huh? It's the glow effect, peeps. The glow effect is added to only certain panels, the panels taking place outside, as making it seem like rain. I kinda like it this way, and that's totally cool in my book.

Jesus, this page reminds me of how much I hate 0.7 lead pencils. These lines smudge if you pass your hand over them, and the lines are thick and ugly. I hate that. I miss my old 0.5 lead pencils, those, those are things you can draw with. Unlike 0.7 pens, I hate them. The original page was so thick, so smudged, that I had to outline it with this very cool generic pen.

These are the visits to the lax.comicdish.com site, they seem to jump around with *gasp* 7 to 8 people coming there. Aside from that. nothing. This make me feel sad? Probably. Probably not, who cares, they're just numbers. Anyways, I got you (the lost souls reading this.) and if you are reading this, you probably like what I do, so cheers to you.

Looking over my phpMyVisites, I notice one thing that is slightly, yet somewhat interesting, disturbing. Aside from the lack of visits to the main page. I usually get hits from people either looking for MP3s, or people looking for song lyrics. Everything from John Mayer lyrics ("one day this generation, will rule the population") to Kansascail "If I...." downloads. That kinda rocks, and hey, people are seeing this comic, even if they only stay for 30 seconds.

I was totally gonna update the radio.blog with more songs today, but I decided, nah. I'll do that later, somewhere, somehow. I had a batch of songs lined up, but having to edit the playlist.xml file is a bitch. Or in other terms, for the people that have radioblogs, you know how you can update a song to the sounds folder and it'll appear automatically? Well, I can't do that. I use the xml verison of the radio.blog, which means every time I upload a song, I have to edit this file called "playlist.xml" to get the song on the blog. And in response to Anonymous. My radio.blog is indeed better than yours, you idea stealer. (OMG, you've been dissed.)

I'm making a new comic called Harbor Freeway, which will hopefully update everyday. This comic is different in the way that instead of making an 8 panel page comic, every update will be one panel. The story will be told in a somewhat storyboard way. Why you ask? Well, I kinda like drawing one panel at the time, it's much easier to do, and it also gives me more freedom.

Oh, and if you're totally wondering, the Harbor Freeway is a major freeway in Los Angeles that goes from Downtown Los Angeles, all the way to San Pedro and the Port of Long Beach. Thus it is naturally called the Harbor Freeway (The Official California state name is the Interstate 110). The cool thing about this freeway is not the elevated Carpool lane, but rather that high freeway ramp that gives an awesome view of Los Angeles at night.

So what's Harbor Freeway about? It's about this young lady that has a strange encounter on the Harbor Freeway with a very quiet man. A man that says he's meeting God soon. The story revolves in and around the encounter and the young lady's personal life until reaching the conclusion.

A very (bitter)sweet one actually.

Sound familiar? It's a story based on the song Counting Blue Cars by Dishwalla. Of course, it was written by John Q, who is pretty much an awesome person. So here it is.

So I missed the Friday update, and I update today with a page bigger than the recent ones, how's that for making it up? Anyways, I kinda love this page, though I hate the way 0.7 pencil scans. I need to go out and buy some 0.5 lead pencils, then I can have that slick, fine line feeling. Until then, I'll have to deal with it. Oh well (I can't go a post without saying that.) I tried something new in this page, I tried cleaner lines and whatnot. The difference is stunning.

Now on to other things. I recently got over 900 MBs of webspace, which means I can finally add more music to my radioblog. Hooray. (I also moved the radioblog from freewebs.com) The music added is varied, there's familiar favorites from the Rolling Stones and Telefon Tel Aviv, to almost unknown wonderful artists. It's a massive update that I hope you'll enjoy. This addition of music is the first step in the war against this radioblog, which I'm actually listening to right now (Daft Punk - Aerodynamic).

Also note, I changed the colors of the radioblog to match the site more, fantastic.

The second thing I'd love to mention is the two SketchUp models I've made. One, the LAX model, which I've fixed. I deleted alot things, fixed some miss aligned buildings. I deleted the pylons and the old control tower, replaced by better looking models. The biggest change in the LAX model is the deletion of the second floor of road (Departures Level), this entire floor caused the model to slow down. It's gone now, and it also looks a lot better. The second model I made was a little experiment in textures. It is a hallway, a simple hallway. The original picture is here, the model lookalike is below.

Now the biggest news is this, you can view both these models in your browser. Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, all you have to do is look below.

The LAX Model

The LAX model requires a medium end computer, a 4-3, maybe 5 year old computer. If it can run The Sims 2 without slowing down (or maybe Indigo Prophecy) then you'll be okay. I had to try it on a newer computer, which it worked on. Cheers. (click here)

The Terminal Hallway (EXIT) Model requires a low end computer, as old as 7 years. It is the same old as that flickr image. It runs perfectly on my computer, so if you got a newer computer, it'd run pretty damn fast. (click here)

Hey peeps, nothing interesting is happening to me this week, so I decided to do some game reviews, of course, be known. I'm a gamer of different tastes, I'd give any game, no matter how bad, a chance. So let's get on with it, people. Let's start this!

Myxo's Game Review: Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Pack

Let's go back to the 90's, when the future was bright, when West Coast rapper Tupac was at war with East Coast rapper B.I.G. when the radio was filled with grunge, alternative was changing and Rocko's Modern Life was still on air. Back to the decade of "hey, it doesn't matter." Before the Matrix and after Blade Runner, before Family Guy was the show everyone was watching. Back when The Simpsons was the shining staple of humor and Bevis and Butthead was our icon, back when MTV still played music.

Remember? Yeah, how times have changed. Let's look at the games. Duke Nukem 3D to be exact. What is called the greatest shooter of our time.

Here I am, looking back at a simpler time. When games were just games, they were fun to play I have Duke Nukem 3D installed on my computer (along with Duke it out in DC, Duke Caribbean-Life's a Beach, Nuclear Winter, Duke!Zone 2 Penthouse Paradise Level, The Gate and Xtreme) so why not, Let's review Duke Nukem Atomic Pack.

I still can't believe how great this game was, and still is. The staple of shooters. The gameplay is simple, mouse and keyboard. Unlike shooters of now, your biggest fear is letting the aliens win. Here, ammo is all over the place, the guns are big and the violence is intense. This is nonstop action, nonstop violence with a hero that only cares about himself, babes and kicking alien ass. The controls are simple, you move with WASD and you shoot with the left button on your mouse. It's hard at first if this is the first time playing a shooter on your comp, but you'll get used to it. Remember, this game proves shooters work well on PCs (try Perfect Dark on the PC, you'll see what I mean.) Once you get over the learning curve (about two minutes) you'll be blasting aliens and being a major badass.

The levels are fantastic, destructable, and fun to run around in. Well though-out levels with plenty of secerts. The levels are well detailed, and very, very fun to go shooting and running. From Hollywood Holocaust, to Area 51, Freeway and Shop n' Bag, The White House (Duke it Out in DC) to It's Impossible. Hell, these levels are the kind that are impossible to get bored with, there are so many things to find, which leads to another point, humor. Not to mention, they look how you think they should, with the smallest details in place.

Now the humor is where it's all at, from Beavis in the Drive Thru at Duke Burger (Go away, we're like, closed) to hearing Duke say "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum." Playing this game is like going down a trip on memory lane. From the Gulity! and Innocent? billboards to OJ's Bronco on the TV. From seeing 867-5309 written on the bathroom wall to seeing the dog compound next to Duke Burger. From the crushed Terminator to Snake Plisken's head on a stick (I guess he didn't escape from LA.) Not to mention the fellow stabs at other shooters of the time, like the dead space marine (that's one DOOMED marine) and the building being rocked by a quake (I ain't afraid of no quake.) Back then this stuff was extreme. Getting health when Duke pees inside the toilet, Strippers that flash you (or hearing those girls moan on that movie set at XXX-Stacy) and the various, crude jokes. By now, the only raunchy thing about Duke Nukem is the Penthouse level, with various and various things not meant for children (The various Penthouse "Pets" and the magazine shoots). Cool thing is, you'll look back and say, "hahaha, I can't believe they got away with that."

The audio by now is hit or miss, the only thing that didn't survive all these years, MIDI just isn't what it was anymore (take a look at Sim City 2000, the MIDI songs are still catchy.) The Duke sound clips are still king, baby.

By now, this game is not shocking, but it can still get jumps from you. Sure, the enemies consist of a sprite in a 3D world, but hell, brightness lowered, and playing in a dark room. Once you step in a dark hallway in LA or the Space Station, walking slowly, no enemies in sight, then BAM, out of fucking nowhere. An alien jumps out, tell me you didn't jump the sightest bit. Considering the graphics by now are pretty laughable, they still look fantastic and they can still pack a punch.

Graphics, the textures, and Visa credit cards. You can tell the artists went through alot of work to detail every single bit of this game, every nook and cranny, all crafted with love. From the LARD pigs to the aliens. Sprites or not, they still look better than some textures in some modern shooters. Now, I play this game with the graphics rendered as polygons (OpenGL makes the game run too slow.) which makes everything run smooth. Cheers to that.

The guns are great, unlike shooters of now. Each gun is usable thought the game (Quake 4) each gun is fun to play with and very destructive. There is something about shooting some LARD cop with a shotgun, or shrinking them and stepping on them. Each gun packs a wallop.

I'm tired, I wish I could talk more of this game, and it's expansion packs (Duke it Out in DC, Penthouse and Nuclear Winter) but sadly everything I've said has been said time and time before, nothing will ever change. 3D Realms perfected the shooter and brought a revolution, cheers to that. And here's a $20 dollar bet. Duke Nukem Forever gets released September 2008.

I don't have much to say about this page, there are some reference to Burger King, Jack In the Box and my favorite, In N' Out (there is one location close to the airport, some say it's the best place to watch the planes land.) I think the page came out pretty good, not too messy, not too defined, just perfect. And also, a bit standard. Oh well.

There's really nothing I want to say, I download Airport Tycoon 3. I was horribly disappointed. I also downloaded Brian Eno's Music for Airports, which was pretty good. Aside from that. Nothing, just nothing.

I also did clean out about 5 gigs of crap and useless files from my computer, all just to play either Microsoft Flight Simulator, or Grand Theft Auto 3. In the end, as we're here. Me looking for something to write about, I give this post to my webcam, which I'm still not using for sex.

I'll also review mostly old games that everyone else has reviewed a thousand times now. So let's begin, let's start with my game reviews.

Myxo's Game Review: Driver: Parallel Lines

Driver goes back to it's roots in Parallel Lines. Remember how horrid Driv3r was? Yeah. Take that memory and throw it out the window. Reflections learned their lesson. From the start up, Driver: Parallel Lines is stylish, like a 70's car chase flick.

The game play is solid. The best part of this game is the driving (of course, it should be since 90% of game is spent driving.) Instead of Reflections trying to make the next Grand Theft Auto, they decided to do what they do best. Driving. Getting into car chases with cops is fun. Remember Bullet or Ronin? It's possible to relive all those chases. Hell, never has driving been so fun. Trust me, once you start a chase, the hours will waste away. There's nothing like nearly missing a bus and driving on the wrong side of the road, then driving into a alley, while four cops and a helicopter chase you. The physics are like nothing else, Driver: Parallel Lines is the Half-Life 2 of driving games (in terms of physics.)

There's just something about seeing the Twin Towers back standing in New York that gives you this weird feeling. It's even weirder when you go back to the same place in 2006.

The Wanted System is one of Driver's better features. Unlike GTA where in or out of the car, the stars that you have is your wanted level. Here in Driver, you have two wanted levels, one on-foot and one in car. If you have a wanted level while in a car and get out while cops see you, you have a wanted level on-foot. If you have a wanted level on a car and lose the cops then get out of the car, the level disappears. Works perfectly.

The missions in this game stand on the edge of either, "Whoa, that was cool" and "My God, this again?!?" are entertaining, like the beginning ones. Some are boring, and some are just plain crap. The better ones are the missions where you get chased and you have to use quick senses to escape using traffic and alleys. Missions consist of being, race here, steal this car, trash this. etc. The one thing that sucks about these missions? the long drive to get there. (Not to mention that if you fail, you start over at your safehouse and you have to drive all the way back to the location. There's no teleporting to missions, only to safehouses.)

on-foot is WAY better than driv3r, and that's saying something.

Getting out of the car has improved. While it's still not perfect, it's WAY better than Driv3r's and that's all that matters. With driving physics like these, you'll want to spend most of your time driving anyways. But if you do choose to get out of the car, shooting at people and causing mayhem is fun. The gameplay for on-foot is solid. Thing is there's not much to do aside shoot people and steal cars.

Unlock some cheats and the fun begins.

Now there's much stuff to do in and around New York. Normal, regular things that, well, aren't interesting. Aside from the races and modding your cars that is. This is where Driver fails, it does nothing new.

The presentation, this is where Driver shines, from the music to the cutscenes. Everything is polished and so stylish. Sometimes you feel as if you're watching a movie. Unlike the Driv3r, Driver: PL tells it story straight and does it like a good scripted Hollywood movie. The camara angels and choice of direction are some of the best I've seen since Metal Gear Solid 3.

If cutscenes were gameplay, GTA would be Driv3r.

The major feature is New York in the 70's and 00's. The decades of both the 70's and 00's are different in there own ways. 70's have a summer-ish feel, where you have no care in the world, the 00's are serious business, cold and mechanical blue. Now to me, the 70's are better than the 00's, everything from the music to the way everything looks. In the car section, it's a toss up.

Also, what the hell Reflections? Why take out the Film Director mode?

So what do I say? Driver: Parallel Lines is a good solid game. It's a week/end game. One where you can rent it and won't be disappointed. If you want to buy it, wait a few months, the price will go down. Then buy it. My main grip is also the best point, while the game tries nothing new, it sticks to what it does best and gets the job done.

Driver: Parallel Lines costs 20 dollars now, totally a good buy.

Yesterday, I totally ate a Whopper and bought all three Burger King games. I have yet to play them, but will eventually. They look so damn interesting, especially Sneak King. There's nothing better than the King sneaking up on people and giving them Burger King.

Man, yesterday was the boring-est Thanksgiving ever, the only redeeming part of the whole day was the games I've played with BigFish on Yahoo Games. Actually, that took place in more of today than yesterday, so that would mean that yesterday, Thanksgiving, did indeed sucked.

Miss. Fish made me feel this human emotion called "guiltism" or something like that. She asked me if I had the update for "today" ready. I said no. Hooray for being lazy? No, not even that Hooray Beer dude would say "hooray" to that. So, around 1:50pm I started to draw the comic. Then around 4:35 pm I posted it. Thank BigFish for the update, otherwise there'd be nothing at the site, and by nothing I mean this:

One thing that is different is the return of the shoutbox, who I've neglected for so much time. It's finally back now. Now you can countine to not use it, to cuss me out, to spam, or to maybe, just maybe, tell me I'm great. The cool thing is it replaces that stupid little list that used to be there. Go ahead, leave a comment, you'll totally make my day.

I have fixed up the menu, alot. There is also one new link I've added, the intro link. That intro link goes directly toward the flash intro BigFish gave me. Although the menu my still have problems, I did manage to sort the lot of them out. Hooray for that, I hate menus.

You know the page where the flash intro used to be? The extra page? Since I've moved the intro to it's very own page, I remade this into an extra page. You know the drill, things about LAX that are extra. Small thing collected over time that may or may not interest you, and some fan art. If you get a chance, check it out. I took time in making this page.

Last thing I've changed or added is the soundtrack page. I made the cover art at the bottom much smaller (100x100, avatar size) thus making this page look much more organized. I've also added a "Search for Torrents" search bar on this very page. (Nothing to do with the music, ;))

Hey, people actually read this blog! (Okay, only two people.) Still that's enough to make me update more, even if I have nothing to say. Knowing me I'll just fill up this post with nonsensical ramblings and the self-masturbation of words. Yay.

..So, I watched Miami Vice. Pretty damn good movie. The bad part was where I was sitting, I was so wrapped up in the movie, that I forgot I was watching it on my compy. In the end, by the end of the movie, my ass kinda hurt. Still, it's a damn great movie. I'm just about to watch the special features. Something you can't do until December 6th! (Hey look, there's the self-masturbation.)

So I've been watching the Celebrity Jeopardy skits from Saturday Night Live, I can't stop watching them. I just love it, I love Sean Connery interacting with Alex Trebek (Will Farrell). The memorable dialog exchanged between the two (Suck it, Trebek), pure SNL gold. I just finished watching the "Rock and Roll Edition" with Bjork, Dave Matthews, and Sean Connery, which I think is the last one. I must say it's the funniest.

I love you guys, thanks for voting for me on the Webcomic Talk Topsite. In the two days I've been there. LAX has managed to move up from 14th spot to 10th. Yay. Granted there are only a few comics there, but people actually stopping to vote, that's pretty awesome for me. If that's not for you, than screw you. I bet you Windows boots up in a day an a half. (Weird Al reference, shameless.)

This page of LAX is one I loved, everything came out well. I decided to do this page with just a pen, I used a bunch of reference photos of the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Because if you've ever been there, you'd know how much of a bitch it is to draw that place. I usually don't show this particular terminal for this very reason. See anything new in this update? No?

I'll tell you.

The text is a different, it's something new I'm trying, if people like it. I'll keep it, if people hate it, I'll change it back, no matter, no worries. I'd just like to here what people think. I kinda like it this way, it's much easier to do a page. (Though I do like the speech balloons.)

You know what I have in my hands? An advance copy of the Miami Vice DVD. It has two covers, one box jacket and the DVD box itself. I have yet to open the thing, I've been meaning to do so all day today. The thing that sucks is that standard Universal Studios sticker, which talks about how this DVD is owned by Universal Studios, and it's use is limited to select press and other stuff. Hey people, or er, the two people reading this. What's up? Anything happen to you guys? No. Oh well. Let's talk shall we? Alright then; First things first, LAX gets the first "real" criticism,

I'm sorry but I get the feeling you call it "experimental" to cover up the fact that you lack the skills to make a decent comic. I'm all for trying new things, but when you get to a point where people just don't get it and it hurts to look at, it's isn't experimental. It's just bad. If you want to do your comic in an ungeneric, more abstract style, that's great. Really. But this comic simply looks like sketchy, unfinished manga. Uglyness is a flaw, not a style choice.

So I suggest you keep experimenting, and try to find a style that's new and interesting, but doesn't torture the eyes of your audience. Good luck.

Second? I've made two films for your viewment pleasure, one is LAX @ SketchUp, which finally shows the v.2 model of LAX (which I stopped working on). It looks great, though you can clearly see why I stopped working on it, the limitations of my computer.

LAX @ SketchUp

The second short film I made is something short of a "What the hell...?" called a "A Little "wtf?" for Trucks (Probably Maybe)" which can be found here. If you have to ask, you best not know. By the way, that truck seen was a childhood toy. Both these short films were shot with my Logitech QuickShot Camara, which does not seem to work in mild darkness. Bah.

Third? I recently bought Gangs of London which I enjoyed. I went to the park a few days and totally lost the damn game, which means I pissed away thirty dollars. Bad? Maybe. This little event has driven me to downgrade my PSP from firmware verison 2.71 to 2.50.

Can't say I'm not having fun with all the homebrew that is out there, right now I got Doom, SmashGP, Super Mario Portable (Demo), Monkey 64, and some GBA emulator installed on the thing. I'm also downloading an ISO of Gangs of London as we speak.

Foruth? I don't believe in fourth.

What's the last thing I got to say? I admitted to one of my best friends that I like both John Mayer and the Dave Matthews Band, he laughed, like I expected him to. Oh well, it's his fault he'll never hear songs like Crush, Crash into Me, and Something's Missing.

More? Looking over my dad's death certificate, I found one bit of shocking news to me that has opened my eyes. My dad was half white. Seeing that sent me into a little shock as I learned something about him that I never knew. How come he never told me? I will never know.

Last. Miss Big Fish (I have no idea how these Miss, Mrs, Ms thing works, I'm just trying to be polite.) from Big Fish Comic made me this damn cool opening intro for my little ugly webcomic.

There is No Update Today

There is no update today.

Why? Well. I decided that the new update day for LAX is now Tuesday. So check back Tuesday. There maybe be something posted up. What exactly will be posted up? "Beautifully Strange" Part 2. As you can see above, there is a new stat bar... As of right now, it says that Beautifully Strange is only 10% done. Hahahahaha. Shit.

I added a cast section. With the help of Sam's system the cast page came easily. Check it out, read up on the characters (and locations). Read it so you don't have to go in the archives. Or read it if you have no idea who the characters are (that happens a lot.) I'm quite proud, so I'll say again. Go check it out. It's nothing to detailed, just one paragraph on each character seen at LAX.

Do I have more news? No, not really (The Stardust closed, which makes me very, very sad.) Oh wait. Yeah. If you noticed this week the blog system was down. I had to replace it with this for the time being. Hopefully I can get the problems resolved. Until then, next time. Dude.

What the fuck is Rebelde?

One fine Wednesday afternoon, I stood there watching TV, feeling ill. I forgotten where I'd put my remote control, and for some reason, I was watching Univision. There was this show, like nothing I'd ever seen on that channel. It was beyond those Spanish soapy dramas they have, it was actually modern and somewhat hip (as Wikipedia tells me.) The show was called Rebelde. Something about some guys and girls at some school that make a band.

I didn't watch it all. I totally feel asleep. But in all that I blurry-ingly saw, I must say. There is a lot of fan service. Let's see, it's a show that takes place at some school (I think high, I have no idea) so obviously, the schoolgirls will have short skirts and short shirts, the guys will obviously be hawt and mysterious. And, there is a lot of product placement.

(A friend tells me I should watch it.)

Maybe you're asking, Hey. What ever did happen to that LAX model Terminal has been working on? You should be actually. This model is the only reason I started this blog (or er, restarted.) Enough of my egotistical bull, this is the real thing.

The LAX model has seen better days, this whole week (and the week before) I haven't even touched, so much as seen this model. I stopped working on it, grew into a rut, and fell. I do some work, small by small. Not doing as much, or enough. The reason? Well two. One is because I am lazy, and when I'm lazy I don't do shit. That and (hey, this is still reason one.) I like everything I make to be accurate, being lazy and being somewhat of a perfectionist is kinda contradicting. The second reason is that the LAX model slows my computer down, (like playing on dial-up slow.) The computer can't keep up with SketchUp's demands, thus pissing me off with it's long load times. You see that video I posted a while back? The wireframe seen was because my computer could not render what SketchUp wants.

New Update: "Luthansa lands at LAX"

LAX updates with a small "a concerto for a rainy day" called "Lufthansa lands at LAX" (Here's a little trivia about about the concerto for a rainy day name. Concerto for a Rainy Day was the third side in my favorite Electric Light Orchestra album, Out of the Blue.)

So yeah, to all you game fanatics, that is a song from Shenmue in there. The song is called (bare with me.) "Christmas on Dobuita Street" by Ryuji Iuchi. It is found on the Shenmue OST, now if you could find yourself this album, you are in for a treat. The album is a masterpiece.

New site update for the LAX site, hooray. What's new in this change of the site? Well a lot actually. Most things have been changed. Let's take a look, shall we?

First and foremost is the new blog system, which now add comments for all past pages of LAX. Thus opening up some cool commentary type blog posts about old comics and shit you never wanted to know about. Go back, read the archives once again. I promise my commentary is worth something. I do, really.

Second is the rearranged site navigation. Now it tells you the current session, some very important links (man.) and everything else. Which has links to the new and improved radio.blog, KAMP radio, which features the Light Motion Dreams radio show, hosted by non other than Gregory from Such A Simple Life.

More? Yes. There is more.

The forums are now built into the site using the <> tags. This enables easy access, you can now go to the forums, and not leave the comic page itself. Cool? Yes. Practical? No. Maybe this will come into use later, maybe it'll be long left forgotten, time will tell. Eventually.

Last but not least in the latest site update is the revamp of the links section. I totally stole the idea from bigfish. The links appear much better and organized than last time. Instead of justing banners, each comic linked has some sort of current screenshot. I will add screenshots to all the links eventually, but until that time comes, and I get off my lazy ass. Then that day will be here.

The Scanner: The Life Story Part 2

Hmm, I also seem to have drawn a piece of LAX art, done in my new style (Yes, Emliy's pregnant. Oh there's a fucking surprise.)

My new style? Let me explain. It's a new style brought on by changes in my image editing programs. And yes, it kicks ass. But here's is the reason why...

I love my scanner, it's a Canon CanoScan LiDE 25. I bought it for only 50 dollars about three years ago and it still does it's job well. My scanner is lightweight, thinner than one of those old high school Math books, and heavier than two coke cans. I remember I bought it because I needed a scanner, I remember the fact that I didn't care which one I bought. Now, three years later I'm looking back at that purchase I made on that gray morning at the Fry's near the Burbank Airport.

Sure, sure. At first I didn't have PhotoShop. I had something better. I had the standard Image editing program that came with the scanner, it was called Arcsoft PhotoStudio. I hated the software, I hated it oh so much, that is until I learned to use it. I learned and I learned. In the time I got pro at it, I was doing amazing things. The comic was high, my spirits where high. Now I'm here. (The bad thing about PhotoStudio was the lack of .gif support.)

When my computer died, I lost the program. I had to get new ones to replace PhotoStudio. Get this, a total four programs have replaced what I could do in PhotoStudio: Those programs are Macromedia Fireworks, Paint.NET, and PhotoShop. While PhotoShop can do alot more than PhotoStudio, I still loved PhotoStudio for giving me all the tools I needed.

Maybe one day PhotoStudio, maybe we'll meet again.

I really wish it would rain, when it rains in Los Angeles. Something magical happens. Everything turns gray, everything turns wet and reflective. Everyone is nicer, and life slows down.

I love it when it rains. I love the gray overcast, I love the way the streets look, I love the cold breeze, the way my shoes slip on the pavement. I love how the weather forecasters over react, as if it was a hurricane. (Give them a break, they only see rain once in a few months.) You know what I love best? Knowing that Christmas is close. The best feeling, ever.

Every morning, the sky tease me. With it's "early morning gray overcast" only to fade away by noon. Maybe tomorrow it will rain?

I sure hope so.

Hmm, I've been losing track of time lately. Fuck, I was actually reminded by a South Park episode that the Wii was coming out soon. I was also shaken up when I saw the Playstation 3 commercial. Nevertheless, I'm getting neither. I need a Xbox 360.

I've been losing track of time lately. It's like I don't know what's going on. To the extent of things, it's my fault. Totally my fault. I haven't been watching or reading any kind of news lately. Did it come a surprise to when when someone told me that the Griffith Park Observatory was opening up after a 5 year absence? Yes.

Speaking of time passing one by. I've been feeling great lately (and also lazy.) You want to know why? Because I've been having the best week ever. Too bad I can't pass this on to my comic, LAX. I've been feeling rather lazy in updating it. Maybe I'll draw or write or do something later on for it, as of right now. I don't let it take me down. Here's a bit of refreshing LAX news, I checked the DrunkDuck Alert, only to find the pleasant surprise of 11 favorites. Four more people actually liked LAX enough to fav. And that makes me happier than balls on a...? Forget that analogy. It went straight into the gutter.

..So what's the case and point of this blog post? Well, when someone says they are the Juggernut. You best know that you're a bitch.

The seconds ticking killed us all, A million years before the fall

Today I focused on one thing, this part of LAX.

The thing about this intersection is, it is fucking hard to model. I'm not gonna get into detail. But let's just say I spent a good 3 hours making it (About 30 minutes of that time where wasted looking at the model aruging with myself). In the end I got pissed and deleted it all. I started working on Terminal 1 and Parking Lot 1 after.

The biggest development in this update was that the Depatures level (top road) was a bit too high, I had to lower the model significantly just so that I could make the skyway between Terminal 1, and Parking Lot 1. The end result looks pretty good, but now I have to fix the many scattered lines left over. For today, Terminal 1 and Parking Lot 1 are looking good.

I decided I am not gonna texture the model, seeing as how it would send the filesize rocketing into the everlasting sky. I will opt for coloring, which will probably look better.

With that picture of the cars, the trees, the people and the streetlight. This model is slowly taking place, I wonder what it would look like a month from now? When it's finished, what purpose will it have? Will it prove that I have too much time on my hands? To answer all these question is, I don't care. Let's not care.

Assume with me. When this model is finished. It will be kick ass.

After 10/01's "I Fail" post. I stopped caring about this blog (by not posting). Either I'm lazy in writing or I just hate the way Blogger makes you post pictures, One of those two reason. I don't know. Nor care.

Anyways, I started working on the model again. One fine morning I was looking over SketchUp, wondering what the hell I should do, then I saw the LAX model. 2.97 Megabytes of model. I said, "hey, why not start again?" And so I did. I knew damn well the work it needed.

When starting over, I decided I was gonna change a lot of things. Remake a lot of the bulidings and whatnot. I started by rotating the map, then place the misaligned bulidings on top of their respected places (sure it does not align perfectly in Google Earth), then I deleted the entire model of LAX and started anew. Now I'm here.

With this.

Just so you know, a watered down version of the model is now avaliable at the 3D Warehouse.

I didn't make the deadline. I failed. I could not finish the LAX model in two weeks time. It was too much work. Oh, well. I'll still continue making the model, trying to finish it. But now that I look at it, making a 3D replica of LAX in two weeks time was insane. I'm not gonna say it would be impossible, but to me it was. Oh well.

Today was my birthday, and boy was it great. This picture by bigfishcomic (who does a cool comic called Big Fish Comic) totally made my day. I love it. Ah, October, what great things do you have in store?

Recently, I was made admin of Comic Dish. (Before we go any further, let me tell you what Comic Dish is. Comic Dish is a free webcomic host that offers more features than DrunkDuck and SmackJeeves. It's a great service that is always being worked on (it's still in beta.) and Sam is one of the friendliest webadmins around.) Now, back to what I was talking about. I was recently made admin of Comic Dish. Yesterday Sam (admin and owner of Comic Dish) asked me if I wanted to be an admin for ComicDish. I said yes, and well. It's great. I truly believe ComicDish will become a great thing. Go check it out.

Day 2 (textures.)

I finished texturing the Radisson Hotel on W. Century Blvd, and some other hotel I could careless about on W 98th Street, I've also added three textures to two bulidings east of Vicksburg Avenue. Last but not least, I've added two textures to the Old Control Tower. I've also added two Parking Lots, the second level of LAX (which is a punk to put make, by the way.) Terminals 1, and Terminal 7. The file is now 3.49 MegaBytes big.

LAX Virtual Project; Jane Says I'm Gonna Start Tomorrow.

So there I am, Limewire, Google Earth, MSN Virtual Earth, Google Sketch Up all in front of me, I think. "Hey, people are doing some awesome stuff in SketchUp. SketchUp is easy to use, maybe I could do something cool?" As I looked around the 3D Warehouse, I found that not many people have done models of airports, so I say to myself. "Why not make a model of the airport that is close to my house?", and I did. I opened up SketchUp, took a terrain picture of the area I was to bulid in Google Earth and started. I few hours later I had something, not much, but it was something. Now I'm here with a model that is far from being finished. I want this thing to be great, so I set up a little challenge, I have to finish this model by my birthday and can only use Google Earth and MSN Virtual Earth as references.

I have until October 1st, can I do it?

Day 1 (the basics)

I have constructed most of the bulidings on Century Blvd, some parking lots, a terminal, and the Encounter Resturant inside the Central Terminal Area.

By the way, I never noticed how great the instrumental part of Bone Thugs N' Harmony's "For the Love of Money" is (the 8:00 version, not the 4:00 one). The guitar is fucking amazing.

Hey, you. Yeah you. Do yourself a favor. Download Sympathy for the Devil (Neptunes Remix) by the Rolling Stones. One could try to remake Sympathy, but they end up falling (guns n' roses.) The Neptunes instead put their own style into the song. Unlike Eminem and his Aerosmith tune up, this one does not suck. There is no rap in this, just hip hop beats and the guitar samba theme. The cool part is that Pharrell adds a sort of sympathic part toward the devil in the song, where the song slows down, turns into a sort of accoustic melody. Sounds great.

Surely, we are all gonna die eventually. But screw that, life is about living. Sit down, eat this great burger from Carl Jr's, and watch time fly. it's worth it. Seriously. If you haven't tried a Pastrami Burger, I suggest you go do so, right now.

...the only side affect is that it makes you life shorter, but fuck. It's nice to eat something good and not give a shit about fat or calories once in a while, right?
